2008

M18™ COMES TO LIFE

Having been the first to introduce lithium-ion to power tools, Milwaukee Tool utilizes this newfound technology to launch the breakthrough M18™ System. Completely backwards and forwards compatible from tool to tool, this unique, performance-driven system gives us the launch pad to introduce ground-breaking solutions at a rapid pace, with the aim to improve jobsite productivity. We set out to change the lives of users by pairing this technology with our focus on the trades.

2010

REDLITHIUM™ TAKES M18™ TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Milwaukee® introduces the next breakthrough in lithium-ion technology, REDLITHIUM™ batteries. Fully compatible with all M18™ cordless products, these new batteries step up the game – providing up to 40% more run-time, 20% more power, and 50% more recharges than any other lithium-ion products available. The new technology was the first to operate in extreme temperatures as low as 0°F/-18°C and runs 20% cooler with fade-free power. We continue our reign as the clear industry leader in cordless technology.

2012

THE DAWN OF M18 FUEL™

By combining our own brushless motors to the most capable electronics packages and advanced lithium-ion batteries, we begin to push the boundaries of cordless tool performance. The complex interworking of three ground-breaking technologies — the POWERSTATE™ brushless motor, REDLITHIUM™ battery technology, and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence — drives the development of our revolutionary M18 FUEL™ products. These breakthroughs began to challenge users' preconceived notions of cordless capabilities vs corded power.

2013

M18 FUEL™ RIVALS CORDED PERFORMANCE

The mix of solutions we are able to provide continues to evolve as we drive breakthrough advancements in motors, batteries, and electronics — all designed and developed in-house. We expand our M18 FUEL™ line with tools that provide unprecedented levels of performance and durability for the user. Each of these new tools boast performance that rivals their corded counterparts, completely changing the game on the jobsite.

2016

M18™ TAKES THE NEXT STEP TOWARD FULL CORDED REPLACEMENT

Milwaukee completely shatters cordless expectations with the M18™ REDLITHIUM™ HIGH DEMAND™ 9.0 Battery Pack. In conjunction with the advanced framework of motors and electronics in the M18™ System, this new battery breakthrough exceeds what's possible on high-voltage or multi-battery tools, delivering up to 5X more run-time, 35% more power, and running 60% cooler than standard lithium-ion. With the launch of the new pack, Milwaukee offers fully compatible battery solutions for the best performance at all levels to meet specific user needs.
